CAIRO MARRIOTT HOTEL - A HISTORIC HOTEL
The hotel was oiginally the "GEZIRAH PALACE" which built in 1869 by Khedive Ismail to serve as a quest palace during the Suez Canal inauguration celebrations.As a Palace has hosted several noteworthy ceremonies throughout history.
Marriott International took over the management of the property in 1970's. They restored the original palace, furnishing it with amenities befitting a five-star hotel and flanking it with 2 modern towers housing 1087 guest rooms.
Kατά την επίσκεψή μου στο Κάιρο, είχα την ευκαιρία να μείνω σε ένα ιστορικό ξενοδοχείο το "CAIRO MARRIOTT HOTEL & OMAR KHAYYAM CASINO".
Το ξενοδοχείο ήταν αρχικά το "GEZIRAH PALACE"που χτίστηκε το 1869 από τον Khedive Ismail σαν παλάτι υποδοχής για τους υψηλούς προσκεκλημένους για τα εγκαίνια της Διώρυγας του Σουέζ. Σαν παλάτι έχει φιλοξενήσει αρκετές αξιόλογες τελετές μέσα στην ιστορία.
Η Marriott International ανέλαβε την διαχείριση του ακινήτου την δεκαετία του 1970. Αποκατέστησαν το αρχικό παλάτι , εξοπλίζοντας το με ανέσεις που αρμόζουν σε ένα πεντάστερο ξενοδοχείο και πλαισιώνοντας το με δύο μοντέρνους πύργους όπου στεγάζονται 1087 δωμάτια.

Chania Old Town - Παλιά Πόλη Χανίων
Although i visit Chania almost every year, the tour of the Old Town continues to fascinate me.
I love walking the narrow streets and observing the buildings with the different architectural styles, the Venetian, the Ottoman and the Jewish, as well as the civilizations that passed through Chania.
Although the Old Town of Chania dates back to the 14th century remain alive, as most of the buildings have been restored and function today as shops, restaurants and hotels.
My advice is to visit the Old Town of Chania early in the morning when there aren't so many visitors.

Αν και επισκέπτομαι τα Χανιά κάθε χρόνο, η περιήγηση στην Παλιά Πόλη συνεχίζει να με συναρπάζει.
Λατρεύω να περπατώ στα στενά δρομάκια και να παρατηρώ τα κτήρια με τους διαφορετικούς αρχιτεκτονικούς ρυθμούς, τον Ενετικό, τον Οθωμανικό και τον Εβραικό όπως και οι πολιτισμοί που πέρασαν απο τα Χανιά.
Αν και η Παλιά Πόλη των Χανίων χρονολογείται απο τον 14ο αιώνα περίπου παραμένει ζωντανή καθώς τα περισσότερα κτήρια έχουν συντηρηθεί και λειτουργούν σήμερα σαν καταστήματα, εστιατόρια και ξενοδοχεία.
Η συμβουλή μου να την επισκεφθείτε νωρίς το πρωί όταν δεν υπάρχουν πολλοί επισκέπτες.
